Writhlington School is an anti-bullying school and we hold the opinion that bullying is not acceptable in any form from any individual or group.
If you feel you are being bullied, tell a friend, tell a teacher and tell your parents. It will not stop unless you do. Alternatively, perhaps you could confide in someone outside the immediate family, like a grandparent, aunt, uncle or cousin, and ask them to help you tell your parents what is going on. It can be hard to do this, but standing up against bullies and tackling their behaviour is the only way to stop it.
Your form tutor also needs to know what is going on, so find time to confide in them so that action can be taken immediately.
Students in our school know what the expectations are of good members of society and how that applies to school, so if they are not upholding these expectations we need to hold them to account and educate them so that they do.
The majority of our students have never had to report a bullying incident, but those who have say that they think the school deals effectively with bullying when it is reported.
