However you travel to school, we have included some information and guidance below.

Students who walk to school

Please be aware that Writhlington School is on a busy road with a busy cross roads near the school entrance. Please only cross the road using the pedestrian crossing and watch and listen for traffic coming from all directions.

Students who come to school by car

We ask that students are dropped off in the sports centre car park. Please do not use the bus park or the school car park to drop your child off. For safety reasons the bus entrance to the school is strictly out of bounds for pedestrians, please use the pedestrian crossings that are in place.

Students who travel to school on a bicycle

Please be aware that Writhlington School is on a busy road with a busy cross roads near the school entrance. We advise all students to wear a cycle helmet, ensure their bike is roadworthy and that they follow the highway code. We have secure cycle racks at the front of school, students will need to bring a lock to secure their bikes.

Students who travel to school on a bus

There are service buses that travel to Writhlington from our surrounding areas, please ensure that your child catches the bus so that they arrive in school before 8:40am. Some students will qualify for a school bus run by the local authority, students must have their bus passes with them and follow the Bus Code below.

  • Every student at the school is entitled to travel in safety.
  • Every student is entitled to travel free from harassment or bullying.
  • Every student is entitled to travel in relative peace.

Any student who disregards these three simple rules will have to make separate arrangements for journeys to and from school.
