Homework Parents are asked to ensure their child completes the required homework. In Years 7 - 9 homework will usually occupy 30 – 45 minutes per night. In later years the amount of homework set will depend on courses being followed. During the first week of Term 1 all students are issued with a Homework Timetable and a Diary for recording homework. Parents can assist their children with their homework and if necessary write comments in their books. If there is any concern regarding homework please contact the Head of Year.

Homework Diary The Homework Diary should always be carried to school everyday and all homework written in it. Parents are asked to check and sign this each week and the tutor will do likewise. The Homework Diary contains important information including timetable, homework timetable, and spaces for absence notes, a basic equipment list, and guidelines regarding lateness. It is also used for general written communication between home and school, for example notification of a forthcoming appointment or notes to explain absences. All credits and merits will also be recorded in the Homework Diary. Online Learning Writhlington students have three options supporting their studying on-line. - New Moodle: The school's own Virtual Learning Environment.
- Sam Learning: online subscription service for GCSE and SATs.
- MathsNet: Various tutorials and exam questions with answers for all levels.
