What is E-Learning@Writhlington?
Technology offers us a unique opportunity to extend learning beyond the classroom. We now have a learning portal which has coursework, revision materials and exciting interactive digital resources which students can access from any location. Children only spend 20% of their lives at school so the learning that takes place at home is extremely important to their future success.
Our vision is that every child will have access to a netbook (small laptop computer) for their sole use both at home every evening, during the holidays and at school, to ensure that they can learn at any time. We have committed a large amount of funding to make this a reality, but to ensure that the programme is sustainable into the future (we may need to replace the netbooks every 3 years) we ask all parents to donate a small sum towards providing the netbook, software, insurance, repair and maintenance.
What the programme offers:
- Dell Latitude 2100 netbook
- Three years warranty
- Insurance
- Technician support
- Windows 7
- Microsoft Office Suite 2007
- Access to school curriculum from school and home (home internet required)
- Access to homework and the school’s
- Virtual Learning Environment
- Curriculum software
