Presentation EveningThere is an annual Presentation Evening when each subject awards prizes to students who have shown particular achievement and progress. These include Sporting Achievements and Community Awards. Encouraging and rewarding students helps to develop self-esteem and promote positive behaviour. Staff recognise the value of praise which may be in the form of verbal comments, written comments or by the use of the school's reward system. Credit systemStudents may receive 'credits' at the teacher's discretion, which may be for particularly good work or for some other noteworthy act. When a student has received a certain number of credits they receive a Certificate, which is presented during assembly. Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Certificates are issued when a student has received 20, 40, 60 and 80 credits respectively. Any student gaining more than 100 credits receives a £5 book token. CommendationsAttendance Certificates are also awarded on a termly basis to students who achieve 100% attendance. In addition to this, faculties award subject certificates and commendations.
