Uniform

School uniform is distinctive and practical and all students are expected to wear it.

Uniform is cheaper for parents, since it discourages competition in the latest fashion, which can prove expensive. It helps to maintain an identity for the school and a good reputation in the neighbourhood.

Protective clothing should be worn in all practical lessons.

Jewellery

Students can wear a modest and unobtrusive amount of jewellery only. There is an important Health and Safety issue regarding movement around the school and during P.E. and games. If the amount or nature of jewellery worn by an individual student is inappropriate or unreasonable, he or she will be expected to remove it.

The correct school uniform should be worn at all times, including on the way to and from school. If, due to special circumstances, students are not in uniform they should carry a signed note from home, which explains why and states when the situation will be rectified. The note should be countersigned by the Tutor.

The uniform is available from the School Shop and from Norton Sports and Camping, Midsomer Norton. A display will be arranged and items available for purchase during the Induction Evening in July. The Heads of Year also carry a stock of sweatshirts and ties.

All items should be clearly marked with the name of the student.
