Dining at Writhlington

Dining

We have recently relaunched our Dining Facilities as "The Hub", this being the heart of the school where students can meet friends, enjoy dining facilities, rest and relax in style. Students have a healthy choice of hot meals, which includes the meal of the day or a hot snack comprising jacket potatoes with salad, cold snacks including sandwiches and baguettes, healthy eating including fresh fruit pots, yoghurts and drinks.

Dining at Writhlington

Writhlington School offers a pre-pay system for the school meal deal. The meal deal consists of a main meal, dessert and a drink which costs £2.40. The card system means peace of mind for parents and students alike as there will be no more problems with lost dinner money or students missing out on lunch having spent too much money at break!

Meal Card

The prepay system provides a card entitling your child to ten Meal Deals for £23.50. These cards are now on sale from "The Hub". Payment (cash or cheque payable to Writhlington School) should be made in an envelope clearly marked with your childs name and tutor group.

Lunchtime Routine

Students will eat school dinners, bring sandwiches or go home. This choice must be made and practised on a regular basis. The only exception to this is in the event of an emergency, when parents are asked to write a letter or a note in the daybook confirming the change in routine.

Students going home to lunch should have a written note to this effect from parents.

At school, students have their lunch on a Year basis. The lunch rota is displayed outside the dining rooms. Years 7 and 8 use the Lower School Dining Room and other years use the Upper School Dining Room.

If your child requires an early lunch, in order to take part in a lunchtime activity, for example, a member of staff will issue him or her with a Lunch Pass.
