Writhlington is an oversubscribed high performing specialist school. Its specialisms are Business & Enterprise and Applied Learning. There are 1407 students on roll. The most recent Ofsted Report characterised the school as 'one with many outstanding features including its Sixth Form and curriculum'.

The school has a large community Sports Centre and Extended School facility on the campus. In April 2010 the school moved into new buildings as a result of a £25m construction programme.

DINING/CATERING MANAGER

Salary £21,519 - £23,708

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an appropriately skilled individual to lead the campus catering team, consisting of 240 seater restaurant, retail shop and coffee shop, servicing 1,400 students, 200 staff and the local community. The campus also has a 400 seat community theatre, an impressive conference centre, sports centre – all with associating catering opportunities.

The post holder will be responsible for producing high quality menus and for developing the hospitality and catering provision across the campus including event catering for functions and coffee shop vending facilities.

The successful candidate will be passionate about quality food and possess proven supervisory-management skills. You will need a professional catering/hospitality qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, excellent customer service skills and the drive and enthusiasm to move the service forward.

This post will require occasional evening, weekend and flexible working to meet the needs of the business.

FINANCE ASSISTANT

37 hours per week (term time, inset days plus 2 weeks)

£16,830 - £17,802 pro rata

£ 15,170 - £16,046 actual salary

This is an interesting and varied role in our busy Finance Department. Duties will include order processing, payments, credit control, banking and managing the school’s parental online payments system. The postholder will also be responsible for the school’s voluntary fund.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of ledgers relating to income and expenditure and is likely to have at least three years experience in a finance related role. He/she will demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, have excellent communications skills, proficiency in the use and development of spreadsheets and be able to work to deadlines. AAT or other relevant accounting qualification is an advantage though not essential as are previous experience with SIMS FMS and Sage (training will be available to suitable candidates).

Cleaners

£7.15 per hour including bonus

Monday - Friday 4.00pm – 6.00pm

Term time only

We require 2 additional cleaners to work in our brand new school. The successful applicants must be able to use own initiative. Experience is desirable although full training will be given if required.
